The Western Tidewater Tennis Association [WTTA] is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization, and we rely on donations, memberships, league and tournament fees, and grants to fund our programs. WTTA is a United States Tennis Association (USTA) Community Tennis Association (CTA) whose mission is to develop and promote the growth of tennis and pickleball in Western Tidewater.

Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, foundations, and grants we have received that enable us to support our community effort of introducing & fostering a lifelong love of tennis and pickleball in the youth & adults in the Western Tidewater of Virginia.
Junior community programs include:
- Teach "Ace Obesity in Schools" program to area third graders. We share the benefits of healthy eating and getting moving, teach tennis during PE classes, and purchase tennis equipment for the schools to keep. The equipment includes two kid-sized tennis nets, twenty rackets, and foam balls, which help make the tennis program sustainable. Altogether, we have run this program at 32 schools, taught 2075 third graders tennis, and provided tennis equipment so that over 4,200 elementary school kids can access tennis.
- Provide after-school indoor tennis programs at the James L. Camp YMCA, using progressive skill building for children ages five to high school.
- Provide outdoor tennis programs at the Cypress Cove Country Club and Howard Mast Tennis Center at Lake Meade Park, using progressive skill building for children ages five to high school.
- Donating refurbished tennis rackets and balls to area high school tennis teams. Specifically, the Southampton County and Franklin High School Boys and Girls Tennis Teams.
- Offer free tennis clinics to area high school tennis teams and coaches.
- Offering free play for area high school and college tennis players over winter break.
- Offer free tennis clinics to YMCA Day Care kids at the James L. Camp YMCA.
- Offer free clinics and camps for the Franklin Boys and Girls Club and Franklin Parks & Recreation Department.
Adult community programs include:
- Provide adult classes in Franklin and Suffolk, including cardio tennis and beginner, intermediate, and advanced clinics.
- Run social leagues in Franklin and Suffolk for all levels of adults and teens. We have offered competitive USTA leagues.
- Run tennis socials, bringing together all levels of players for fun.
- Provide adult beginner tennis classes. The new players then continue playing in our clinics and leagues.
- Provide adult beginner pickleball classes, explicitly focusing on getting the older population moving. The new players then continue playing in open play and leagues.
- Provide a summer fun Tri-Level Tennis and Pickleball League for all levels of adults and teens. In 2023, We have over 50 players competing this year.
- Held "Fit for Tennis" classes for teens and adults. These classes focused on increasing strength, mobility, and flexibility around the tennis courts.
