Pres. Letter
Letter from Linda Landes, our 2026 President
Once again, I have been elected by the HTP Board members to be your President in 2026. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve HTP and the community of Harrisonburg and surrounding areas along with a dedicated Board of Directors. I am thankful that there is still a strong community interest in the game of tennis and our tennis organization.
Becoming an HTP member allows you to participate in our events with other tennis enthusiasts. Again this year, HTP will be holding their pick-up play on Thursday and Sunday evenings at Eastover Tennis Courts in Harrisonburg from 6:00-8:00 pm during the Spring, Summer and Fall months. This is a great way to meet fellow members and brush up on your game. Also, HTP provides monthly, themed Sunday Socials with tennis drills and tennis play. Sunday Socials are a lot of fun for our members! Other events we hold annually are the Singles Tennis Leagues in the Spring and Fall, and The HTP Open Tennis Tournament in June. This year, we are working with Parks and Recreation to add some youth clinics to our list of activities to spark young people’s interest in learning how to play tennis and improve on their skills. We are very excited to be able to offer this to the community. Hopefully, by next winter, we will once again have access to Bridgewater’s indoor tennis courts.
I would like to add that I, along with the board members, value your opinion and would like to hear from you. Fresh and new ideas are welcome.
Newsletters via email are sent out often to keep you posted on upcoming events, tournaments in the surrounding area, places to restring your racket, etc. Very informative. You are welcome to contact Pamela Holmes, our Treasurer, if you would like to contribute information for our newsletter.
Thank you, members, for your support and dedication to the game of tennis and we invite all local players to come out and join us!
Linda Landes
2026 HTP President
