Mission, Vision and Values
The mission of the U.S. Blind Tennis Association is to educate and grow the sport of Blind and Low Vision tennis throughout the United States.
To achieve this mission, USBTA focuses on the following:
- Accelerate the growth of Blind and Low Vision (BLV) tennis across the United States;
- Make tennis accessible to BLV athletes of all ages and abilities;
- Inspire BLV individuals to consider casual participation through international tournament-level competition;
- Maximize participation at the recreational, community, and tournament levels;
- Expand knowledge and awareness of BLV tennis;
- Maintain a clearinghouse of resources for the growth and development of the sport;
- Operate by the current best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion;
- Provide opportunities for all levels of blind athletes to participate in instruction, education, and tournament play;
- Educate sighted individuals on the importance of and best practices with BLV players in tennis;
- Provide both a framework and guidance in developing BLV tennis programs.
