Mission, Vision and Values

The U.S. Blind Tennis Association roots all of its initiatives in a strong foundation of organizational pillars.

Mission

To make tennis accessible to all blind and low vision athletes across the United States, unlocking personal growth, athletic achievement, and lifelong connections.

Vision

A vibrant national community where adaptive tennis opportunities are boundless, and no vision disability limits access to athletic excellence or belonging.

Values

  • Access: We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring that blind and low vision individuals everywhere can discover and enjoy the sport of tennis.
  • Community: We foster deep connection—on and off the court—building a strong support network among athletes, coaches, and families.
  • Advocacy: We raise awareness of blind tennis, promote disability rights, and work to shift perceptions about blindness and sport.
  • Empowerment: We provide tools, training, and encouragement for individuals to reclaim confidence, independence, and purpose.
  • Equity: We work to ensure fair access, fair play, and fair opportunity for every player, regardless of background, ability, or resources.
