Meet the Staff

J. Calungcagin 

Co-Founder, Head of Tennis, Program Development

J. Calungcagin is a Tennis Professional with over 20 years of coaching experience.  He has experience in coaching junior player development, junior tournament training, adult competitive leagues, and private training (1999-Present). 

He has been a coach at all of Rockland County’s clubs & academies, as well as others in northern New Jersey (1999-2022).  He was a coach at Nyack High School.  He led the junior varsity team to four undefeated seasons (2004-2007); and assisted the varsity team to league championships (2005-2007).  He has also coached for French-American School of New York & Blind Brook High School tennis teams (2008-2014). He is currently coaching for MacArthur A. Barr Middle School for both boys & girls teams (2015-2022).

In high school, he won the League Championship with his team, ending his senior year with a personal record of 14 wins and 1 loss.  He also held a top 50 USTA junior ranking.

In college, he won Mid-Hudson Conference Championship two years in a row in both singles and doubles (2000 & 2001).  He was a Region XV doubles finalist; as well as a national qualifier (2000).  For over 15 years, he has held a top 50 USTA Men’s Sectional Singles ranking, with a high-ranking of #3 (1999-2015), and a national ranking in doubles.  He holds four Men’s Open Singles titles.

J. holds a B.A. in English Literature and M.S. in Education.  He is an elementary school teacher for the South Orangetown Central School District.
 

Andreu Ferragut-Lluch 

Head Coach, Director, Youth Tennis

Andreu Ferragut-Lluch has coached at some of the most competitive academies in the world. He has coached a group of international elite teen players who compete at ITF tournaments during his tenure at the world reknowned Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy. He also served as a Summer Tennis Camp Director at Tennis Academy Mallorca in Spain. He is now an Assistant Coach for the Saint Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis Team a top 5 east region team.

As a junior player, Andreu was trained and advised by top coaches including Jofre Porta and Carlos Moya - former #1 and Rafa Nadal's coach - making him no stranger to the the drills and strategies that make young players become successful. He applied those same teachings to became the first-ever Spartan to win 100 career matches for the Saint Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis program holding the curent single season record of 33 wins.

As a college player, Andreu has lead the Spartans as captain to become regionally ranked or the first time in the school's history. He has been named to the ECC All-Conference First Team his senior year and Second Team during his sophomore year.  He was recognized as team MVP three years in a row, named East Coast Conference men´s tennis player of the week twice and recognized as Spartan Athlete of the Month. He was also awarded as Male Scholar-Athelete of the year for the East Coast Conference in 2018.
 

Erin Murphy 

Head Coach, Director, Adult Tennis

Erin Murphy is a USPTA Certified Teaching Professional. She was the Women’s Assistant Coach at Amherst College and helped lead the team to a Quarterfinal finish in the NCCA Championships. She was also the Associate Head Coach of the Men's & Women’s Tennis team at St. Thomas Aquinas College from 2016-2021. In this role, she led the Women’s team to the ECC Championship appearance for the first time in seven years in 2017 and to the finals of the ECC Championship in 2021. In Spring 2019, she helped lead the men’s team to a historic second place finish in the ECC Championship tournament for the 2018-2019 season.

As a junior player, Erin attained national and ITF rankings in both singles and doubles, competing in ITF Circuit events internationally. She attended Amherst College and played on the nationally-ranked Division III team and was part of the national finalist team in her junior year, and national 3rd place team in her senior year. She was awarded second team All-NESCAC honors in doubles in her sophomore year, and first team All-NESCAC honors in her senior year. 
 

Meet Ayman Busat 

Coach, Tennis

Ayman Busat is a certified USPTR for performance and development of children ages 6-18 , Ayman worked for the City Park Foundations as both instructor and site director teaching tennis to inner city youth.

As a junior player, Ayman started playing tennis in 1999 for Pomona Middle School followed by joining the Ramapo H.S. varsity team. He is a recipient of the Sportsmanship Award for 3 straight years, Ayman played college tennis as the number 1 singles player for Rockland Community College and York College.
