Rockland Community Tennis - Programming

Programming

Rockland Community Tennis is dedicated to advancing health, wellness, academic success, and essential life skills for children across Rockland County. Through partnerships with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), along with the North Rockland, Suffern, Nyack, Pearl River, and South Orangetown School Districts—and their Parent Teacher Associations—we provide free or low-cost introductory tennis programs across these districts’ elementary and middle schools.

We also run inclusive programming at the Piermont Community Center for children with developmental disabilities. These sessions are offered in collaboration with fiscal intermediaries approved by the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, ensuring accessible recreational opportunities for all.

Each year, approximately 900 children participate in at least six weekly one-hour sessions. This model guarantees broad access, particularly for the 15% of under‑resourced youth living below the poverty line. Many of these children come from a targeted area, where we offer free one-hour sessions four days a week for six weeks during both the spring and fall seasons.

Beyond the school-year programming, summer camps and weekend clinics are held during the warmer months at various high schools across the participating districts, expanding access and keeping students engaged year‑round.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to make tennis a pathway to healthier lifestyles, academic enrichment, and personal growth for every child in our community.

Winter Junior Clinics
Back by popular demand, we're reintroducing the technical work in tennis because it's the foundation of long-term player development. Our community has spoken—athletes, parents, and coaches alike recognize the value of mastering technique early and consistently. Whether it's footwork, stroke mechanics, or tactical awareness, technical training builds confidence, reduces injury risk, and elevates performance. We're excited to bring it back, stronger and smarter, to help every player reach their full potential.

Winter Tennis begins this November
