JTT FALL 22 CHANGES
The first match of the season was a bit rough around the edges across all teams. To be fair - Edyta, the coaches and the USTA had a meeting two days before season opener and implemented these new changes for 14u 18u L and 18u:
-
Down from 4 rounds timed to 3 rounds untimed, first to win 6 games no tiebreaker
-
Blind rosters - Captains share rosters with each other without knowing the other team’s line up and are not allowed to make changes after seeing the other team’s line-up
These changes make sense for the development of the players, but may have caused confusion and frustration.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Our high school player captains did very well under pressure and uncertainty. I am a supporter of high school captains. It gives all the players a chance to develop the following skills:
-
cooperation
-
communication
-
leadership
-
independance
All players are responsible for their own level of play, their own performance and their own conduct on and off the court. If there are problems between teammates, captains, or opposing teams:
-
Players: camly communicate with that person and with me.
-
Parents: May keep me informed of developing issues and urge their player to contact me and the other person involved.
-
Issues may not get addressed immediately, but they will get addressed.
XOXO Coach Kat
