Raul Rodriguez
Raul is an Elite level USPTA pro & MTM (modern tennis methodology) coach. Rodriguez earned a scholarship to the Citadel, where he played 4 years of Division 1 tennis and was captain for 2 years. He grew up in Charleston, SC and trained at the Charleston Tennis Center where over 100 players also received tennis scholarships.
Raul started coaching with his childhood pro, Arthur Anastopoulo, in his city of Charleston’s program after college. “I never intended to make this my career but just fell in love with helping the game grow and seeing each individual get better.”
Rodriguez moved to Orlando in the Fall of 2018 due to his wife’s promotion and started working for USTA National Campus.
“I am a student of the game; always learning from the industry’s foremost leaders and teachers at conferences, workshops, and online.”
Rodriguez uses a Game-Based Teaching Methodology in which players learn skills based on what they will face in a real match. Raul transforms the practice court while maintaining proper technique and footwork in live ball scenarios.
Raul loves molding students, whether a young child or beginner adults, to go on their journey to achieving all that player’s goals and dreams.
Rodriguez is a team captain’s best weapon. A Winning doubles system that focuses on “Plays”, positioning, shot selection, and much more. Raul can help with lineups, pairings, etc. Each player has unique skills and talent which determine what side a player should play, who should serve first, & which players will work well together.
Off Court, Raul loves to travel with Lorraine, his wife, and their kids Caroline 16 and Raulson 8.
