**You will be asked to create a free USTA account for the parent (if you don't already have an account), then you'll add your child to that account. Once completed, you will be taken back to the OBXTA website to complete your transaction.
All OBXTA youth coaches are SafePlay Certified and Background Checked.

Jrs. Winter Clinics at Pine Island with Coach Heggie
Sign the kids up for our special indoors winter clinic at Pine Island Racquet & Fitness Center lead by Coach Kate Heggie. Dust off their rackets and get those legs moving with a fun hour of tennis.
Cost: $23 per session (minimum of 3 registrations are needed to hold the clinic, max of 8)

Time:
12-1 pm, 7-10-year-olds (Advanced 10-year-olds can attend the 1-2 pm class, contact us to register)
1-2 pm, 11-14-year-olds
Tennis shoes or sneakers are required. Snacks will be provided by the OBXTA.

"OBXTA Juniors" Tennis League
Join our OBXTA Juniors Winter Tennis League in collaboration with Pine Island Racquet & Fitness Center in Corolla, NC. This league is for 11-18 year old* players who are fairly comfortable with service, maintaining a rally and keeping track of score. Players will compete with each other in singles and doubles matches.
COST: $80 for the season which includes a t-shirt for the player. Min. of 4 players to have a league, max of 12) CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

Important info: Registration for this league is a commitment from both player and parent to show up for the dates as scheduled and participate as needed. Participation will include assisting with keeping score, making line calls, ball pickup, etc. Additional dates may be added.

Where: Family Recreation Park in Kill Devil Hills
Number of Participants: Minimum of 3, maximum of 8 participants.
Details: Any classes cancelled due to weather will be rescheduled.

Try this activity at home or on the court to work on hand-eye coordination and control. To make it more challenging, try spreading your arms out wider or letting the ball bounce higher. Try to see how many you can get in 30 seconds.
No court to play on at home? No problem! Make your own net at home using regular items from around the house. Get creative, but make sure to ask for permission from your parent or guardian before using!
Edgies works on your grips, specifically a continental grip. Using your racquet with a continental grip, try and see how many times you can hit the ball using the outer edge of your racquet. You got this!
See if you can master this activity called, Body Volley. You bounce the ball off the racquet and then off a body part to work on coordination, hand-eye and creativity. Challenge yourself and see how many you can get!

This activity works on your ready position, contact point and swing path. We used a ladder as our net; get creative and find your own materials to create a barrier. Once you are comfortable with lobster trap, you can make it more challenging by hitting it back to your partner.
With this activity, you can play with friends or on your own to improve consistency and control. Work to bounce the ball up on your racquet, or even do a trap, to see if you can achieve ten in a row. To work on forehands, hold the racquet palm up. To work on backhands, hold the racquet palm
