Middle School Tennis League
Louisville Tennis Association offers a tennis league for Middle School in Metro Louisville. This is an opportunity for the kids to play for their school from beginners to intermediate.
2023 Fall Middle School Tennis League
● All teams wanting to participate will need to be
registered through the USTA website by August 18th
with a team captain that has been cleared to coach by
both JCPS and USTA.
● Players must also be registered through USTA before
they can participate in match play. However, players
can be added at any time throughout the season.
● Free clinics will be held for all players wishing to
participate on August 26, September 9, and September
16.
● There will be preseason scrimmages held on August 29
and August 31 where players will be rated by
professionals and questions will be answered on how
to register players on USTA.
● The cost per player is $38 plus a $3.25 fee for
processing. This money will be used to pay court fees
for matches, tennis balls for all teams, instructors for
clinics and end of season awards.
● The regular season will consist of ten matches played
twice per week at several different locations around the
city. Matches will begin at 6:00. The dates for these
matches are Sept 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28, Oct 10, and
12.
● The end of season tournament will be a flighted event
consisting of 4 different tournaments for beginner
singles, beginner doubles, advanced singles, and
advanced doubles. It will take place Oct 16 and 17.
● The league is coed, and matches will consist of both
singles and doubles.
● Matches will be 4 game prosets with no ad scoring.
● Players should be matched up against similarly rated
players to create a fun environment for everyone. It will
be the coaches responsibility to communicate with the
opposing coach prior to all matches, so everyone
knows how many players to bring and what each player
is rated.
● The number of matches played each date will be
determined by the coaches. It will depend on how
many players are available that day and what they are
rated.
● The goals of this league is to teach kids how to play the
game of tennis and for everyone to have fun.
