9^th Annual Charles Huggins Memorial Tennis Tournament

Charles was a skilled and enthusiastic teacher for the Ellington Recreation Department where one often heard his three classic lines, “That’s not bad,” “That’s pretty good,” and “Oh, that’s real good” which helped ensure every student received positive feedback and encouragement along with great teaching. Join us for a weekend of competition as we remember Charles and his impact on our program.

• Competition will be open to all with a USTA rating less than 5.0.
• For Boys Singles & Girls Singles, the maximum age is 14 as of tournament date.
• Adult play is best 2 of 3 sets, AD scoring, with 7-point tiebreaker in each set.
• Boys and Girls play is a Pro 8 set, No AD scoring, with a 7-point tiebreaker.
• Entry Fees Each singles player pays $20 per draw Each doubles team pays $30 per draw
• Each PLAYER must provide a new can of tennis balls for each match played.
• Each tournament participant receives a tournament tee.
