“Hit To Be Fit” Day Was Real Hit

The special event, held on May 10 in conjunction with more than 300 other tennis facilities and sites across the country that were playing tennis simultaneously, showcased the ease and fun of learning tennis while benefiting from a great cardio workout.

Twenty-four tennis enthusiasts, from very beginners to accomplished players, gathered at Council Rock North High School’s tennis courts to participate in Red Ball—short-court rallying that provides a great way to learn and practice the game—and Cardio Triples—heart-pumping match play that keeps everyone moving.

BCTA Coaches Craig Batten and Cielo Orjuela led the group through various warmup and play activities. In addition to learning and improving their tennis game, participants enjoyed camaraderie, laughter, and give-aways at the end of the match. Kudos to Tom Engler for receiving the “Most Enthusiastic” award, which was challenging to determine given all the on-court spirit.

The BCTA, which hosted the event, thanks its coaches, the USTA, and USTA Middle States for their support. And, of course, it thanks the great group of tennis enthusiasts who came out to enjoy the fun (and battle the wind).
