Local tennis players are helping to celebrate 100 years of USTA Middle States tennis and have some fun around The Wimbledon Championships! The competition kicked off June 22, and despite the scorching heat, 14 of 16 players showed up wearing some form of white clothing as is Wimbledon tradition.

The second week, 18 participants enjoyed some great doubles and singles matches as well as a Wimbledon treat when they were finished--fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

Participants played a mix of singles, doubles, and mixed doubles and players with levels from 4.0/4.5 down to beginner.  Log onto BCTA's Facebook page for photos.

Champions of each division will be crowned on July 20. All matches are from 4 to 6 p.m. at Central Bucks High School West in Doylestown.
