Bryan Hughes. Director of Programing and Presentation

Coach Bryan Hughes Was born and raised in South Philadelphia and is a product of Philadelphia’s parks and recreational programs at 6 years of age. Graduate of "Southern" High School, went on to graduated from the first “Tennis-Technology” college program in The United States. Studying Applied Sciences and Business Managment, while Majoring in Recreational Leadership and Management, at Tyler Junior College in Texas.

Bryan’s 35+ years of tennis coaching includes 6 NJCAA National Titles as an assistant coach with Tyler Junior College, as well as 6 individual Rolex National Champions. As a USTA Junior Team Tennis coach and commissioner, he orchestrated multiple state and national competitors, going undefeated at Stone Mountain, Georia The National Championships. As Head Coach at Gorman High School he also saw his teams capture district and state championships, as well as Boys and Girls Individual and Doubles State Champions.

Coach B. has worked under Hall of Fame Coaches Dick Gould at Stanford University and John Petterson at TJC. He directed community and country club programs in Louisianna, Florida and Texas and started Jedi Tennis LLC, here in Philadelphia, in 2008, as well as The South Philadelphia Tennis Association in 2011. The SPTA has won CTA of the Year in 2014 and 2022.
