The Abilene Tennis Association gives back to our tennis community in many ways.  Click here for the ATA Community Tennis Grant application.

In 2017 the ATA provided a case of ATA logo balls to every high school and middle school in AISD, Wylie ISD and Jim Ned. Additionally, each year the ATA awards Community Grants to local schools to help them with the purchase of much needed equipment or supplies. Leaf blowers were provided to the schools for the 2016 grant year. For the 2017 grant year, the following Community Grants were applied for and are being provided by the ATA:

• An eye coach for the Craig Middle School and Mann Middle School tennis programs
• Several cases of balls, scorekeepers, and a roll-dri to the Wylie High School tennis program
• Balls, baskets and cones to the Wylie Jr. High School tennis program
• $1,000 towards sweat suits for the Varsity players in the Cooper High School tennis program
• $1,000 towards the purchase of a a ball machine for the Abilene Christian Schools tennis program
• $1,000 towards the purchase of a a ball machine for the Abilene High School tennis program

Abilene Tennis Association Needs You! Please Volunteer!

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete a short Volunteer Form to inquire about volunteering.  We welcome any inquiries, so we hope to hear from you soon!

Program Volunteer – Our Program Volunteers are integral to providing  tennis programming  to  a  growing  community  of  children, adults, military veterans  and  those  with special needs.   Volunteers are often needed to help run drills, instruct participants on proper tennis technique and offer encouragement.

Committee Volunteer – The ATA has a number of committees needing your input and participation.  Our committees are working committees and need people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and provide necessary assistance in those respective areas. It is not necessary to be on the ATA Board to participate in a committee:

• Junior Tennis – We need adults to assist as a coach for individual Junior Tennis Teams, as well as help with clinics and junior tournaments. Come help the players with rules of the game, keeping score and court etiquette.  If you are a parent of a player, we encourage you to coach your child’s Junior Tennis Team.
• Adult Tennis – Help us with adult tournaments and clinics.
• Mixed 18 & Over Sectionals (October 2019) – this great event will bring over 400+ participants from all over Texas.  Volunteers are needed!
• Fundraising – help us raise money for our tennis activities.
• Annual Junior Tennis Banquet (May 2019) – help us pull together this fun annual recognition dinner for our area tennis players
• Community Tennis Development & Marketing – help get the word out how great Abilene tennis is!
• Financial and Operations (or Administration) Committee
• Officials, Tournament Directors, & Referees Committee

ATA hosts a number of events throughout the  year.  Whether you are a committee member or not, we need volunteers to help us with our events by assisting with a variety of items such as food service at a player party or tournament, handing out prizes or t-shirts at a tennis event, or helping at our annual tennis banquet.

Donate to the Abilene Tennis Association

Tennis changes lives.  The game of tennis is a sport that spans age, race, gender, and lifestyle gaps.  Our Missions at the ATA is to promote and develop this lifetime sport in the greater Abilene area.  With that, we believe in promoting the tennis through programs for area youth and adults – anyone who wants to play.  To accomplish that, we work closely with volunteers and donors to raise the money used to teach and introduce tennis to people of all ages, support and encourage new and existing players through providing match play opportunities and leagues, and recognizing them for their efforts.

We are so appreciative that a lot of our funding comes from you when you participate in leagues, tournaments, and fundraisers.
