T.R.I.N.I.T.Y. Tennis is excited to continue our Tennis 101 – Red Ball Youth Program with Sessions #5–8, a new series that builds on the foundation introduced during our fall Tennis 101 programming. While these sessions follow the natural progression of our curriculum, our program structure is intentionally designed so new players can join at any point and feel confident, supported, and successful from day one.

Whether your child participated in the fall or is picking up a racquet for the very first time, Tennis 101 offers a welcoming, low-pressure environment where learning tennis is fun, active, and engaging.

What Makes Tennis 101 Easy to Jump Into?

Our Tennis 101 program follows the USTA Net Generation Red Ball model, which uses:

  • Smaller courts

  • Lower nets

  • Slower-moving red balls

  • Age-appropriate racquets

This format allows players to rally sooner, experience success quickly, and focus on learning how the game works, not just how to hit the ball. Each session blends skill instruction, movement-based games, and cooperative play so that all players, regardless of experience, can learn together.

Sessions #5–8 reinforce and expand on core fundamentals such as:

  • Racquet control and swing basics

  • Rallying with a partner

  • Serving and returning

  • Scoring and simple match play

  • Teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence on court

Because skills are revisited and layered throughout the series, new players can seamlessly join while returning players continue to grow.

A Clear Pathway Toward Team Play

One of the key goals of Tennis 101 is to prepare players for what comes next.

These sessions intentionally lead into our USTA Team Challenge Program, launching in Spring 2026. Team Challenge introduces youth to friendly, team-based match play in a low-pressure environment where the focus is on learning how to compete, supporting teammates, and enjoying the experience of playing matches.

Tennis 101 helps players:

  • Understand court positioning and scoring

  • Build confidence rallying and serving

  • Learn how matches and rotations work

  • Feel comfortable transitioning into team competition

For many families, Tennis 101 is the perfect first step, with Team Challenge serving as the exciting next milestone in their child’s tennis journey.

Who Is Tennis 101 For?

Tennis 101 is designed for:

  • Beginner youth players (no prior experience required)

  • Players returning from a break

  • New families looking for an accessible entry point into tennis

All equipment is provided, and sessions are led by trained coaches in a supportive, encouraging environment.
