T.R.I.N.I.T.Y. Tennis Launches the Heart Strong Initiative
Building Healthy Hearts & Prepared Communities
T.R.I.N.I.T.Y. Tennis is proud to officially launch the Heart Strong Initiative, a community-focused movement designed to promote heart health awareness, CPR and AED education, youth and family wellness, and active lifestyles through tennis.
The initiative was inspired by the personal journey of T.R.I.N.I.T.Y. co-founder Adrian Murray, who survived sudden cardiac arrest during a school event in Chesterfield County on October 10, 2018. What began as a life-changing experience has now become a mission to help communities become healthier, more active, and more prepared.
Nearly eight years later, Adrian along with his wife, co-founder Krys Murray are transforming that experience into a meaningful initiative that combines movement, wellness, leadership, and emergency preparedness through beginner-friendly Red Ball Tennis programming and community engagement opportunities.
Tennis became an important part of Adrian’s recovery journey following his cardiac arrest. Staying active through tennis helped support both his physical and mental recovery process and became one of the factors that contributed to his ability to make a strong and relatively quick recovery. That experience deepened the Murrays’ belief in the power of movement, wellness, and community-centered recreation.
As part of that full-circle journey, Adrian officially became certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid instruction in 2026, helping expand T.R.I.N.I.T.Y.’s ability to provide life-saving education and awareness opportunities throughout the Richmond region.
The Heart Strong Initiative is designed to:
- Increase heart health awareness
- Expand access to CPR, AED, and First Aid education
- Encourage active lifestyles and movement through tennis
- Promote youth and family wellness
- Build stronger and more prepared communities
At the center of the initiative is Red Ball Tennis, a modified version of tennis played on smaller courts with slower balls and beginner-friendly equipment that makes the game easier to learn and more accessible for youth, families, and new players.
Through Red Ball Tennis, participants can experience fun, active, and welcoming environments that encourage movement, confidence, teamwork, and connection through sport.
This summer and fall, T.R.I.N.I.T.Y. Tennis will offer several Heart Strong Initiative experiences and community events, including:

“We wanted Heart Strong to feel welcoming, approachable, and community-centered,” said Krys Murray. “Our hope is that this initiative creates opportunities for families and communities to move together, learn together, support one another, and recognize the importance of both physical wellness and emergency preparedness.”
The Heart Strong Initiative reflects T.R.I.N.I.T.Y.’s ongoing commitment to creating meaningful opportunities that strengthen youth, families, and communities both on and off the court.
We invite the community to join us as we continue Building Healthy Hearts & Prepared Communities through movement, education, wellness, and tennis!
