Sugar Creek Golf and Tennis Club - Atlanta Youth Tennis

Atlanta Youth Tennis Learn The Game. Stay Fit. Have Fun.

Summer Tennis & Golf Camp

Our tennis camps are for ages 7 and up. We offer two sessions daily. The morning session is built around drills and stroke development while our afternoon sessions are customized for match play. Our competitive group will compete in several tournaments this summer as our goals are for them to increase their UTR, WTN and Georgia rankings. Some events will be located at Sugar Creek while others will be located around the city.

Coach Rocky, our Atlanta Youth Tennis Director, will conduct a zoom call before camp begins for all registered parents. There, he will field all questions.

Welcome To Atlanta Youth Tennis

Atlanta Youth Tennis serves all of Atlanta's communities that wouldn't otherwise have an opportunity to learn the sport in a fun and nurturing environment. Our program operates through the NJTL Overhead Foundation. Everyday becomes discovery moments as we develop all our players into achieving technically sound strokes, mental toughness, match play endurance, racquet handling and so much more. We have a great group of players on all skill levels so our players organically create an atmosphere of intensity but also friendships and fun competitive rivalries. Once they are ready, our players compete in team tennis league play as well as sectional and national USTA tournaments.

The summer of 2022 finally broke an opportunity to broaden our scope and build a tennis after-school program through a partnership with Morehouse College. But as the numbers related to Covid-19 and her variants climbed, our program was put on hold as the college decided to suspend all outside programs.

We used this as an opportunity to revise our approach and offer a specialized after-school tennis program for schools in the Atlanta community. Our first program will start with Christine Elizabeth Academy this Fall 2023. Our goal is to develop elementary and middle school age youth and equip them with the proper stroke dynamics and conditioning. Our collective efforts will setup a path for them to start competing Spring 2024.

This initiative will be lead by Coach Rocky and his coaching staff, who has over 20 years experience teaching tennis. He is a professionally certified teaching pro, USTA SafePlay Approved, PTR Insured and he is also the Atlanta Youth Tennis Director of Tennis and Programming.
