Our Mission

Founded in 2016, SATA is a 501(C)(3) comprised of tennis enthusiasts and community leaders centered on bringing families together through physical activity, and mentoring youth through the sport of tennis.

Serving ages 4-99

Jump into the thrilling world of tennis with the Southside Area Tennis Association (SATA)!

We offer something for everyone in the Southside region, from youth to adults. Our 4-8 week programs are designed for all skill levels, including the "Learn, Practice, & Play" sessions, perfect for players of all ages to enjoy while sharpening their game. Young athletes can join our Middle and High School League to gear up for competitive play or take it up a notch with our High Performance Program for advanced juniors. Adults aren’t left out—our dynamic Adult Team Tennis league offers a mix of friendly competition and community vibes. Plus, keep an eye out for our upcoming Adult Red Ball program, a fresh, fun game from the USTA that combines the best elements of pickleball and tennis. Come join us on the courts for an experience that’s both fun and fulfilling!

Kind words from our players

“I am absolutely convinced having seen both youth and adults in SATA’s programming and having two of my kids involved over the past 7 years, the lifelong sport of tennis is a fantastic vehicle to grow character, health and social wellbeing. Our community is a better place thanks to SATA!”
- Scott

"Learn, Practice, and Play was an effective and fun introduction to tennis that really focused on building the skills needed to play the sport. I left the session with a great foundation to practice on my own."
- Victoria

Stay Active Videos

Try this activity at home or on the court to work on hand-eye coordination and control. To make it more challenging, try spreading your arms out wider or letting the ball bounce higher. Try to see how many you can get in 30 seconds.

No court to play on at home? No problem! Make your own net at home using regular items from around the house. Get creative, but make sure to ask for permission from your parent or guardian before using!

Edgies works on your grips, specifically a continental grip. Using your racquet with a continental grip, try and see how many times you can hit the ball using the outer edge of your racquet. You got this!
