A great day of competiion at RCTA's 2021 Fall Invitational.  With junior players throughout Rockland's school districts, Westchester county, neighboring NJ and Long Island, NY, the day was filled with exciting matchups. Check out the results and noteworthy mentions.

 

BOYS SINGLES 16 & UNDER

16 year old John Funk of Port Washington, NY wins the Boys 16u division with a commanding performance in a 10-draw competition.

At only 13 years of age Pratik Nayak of Nanuet, NY playing up a division reaches the finals on his first 16 and under tournament. 

Noteworthy mentions is another 13 year old Steven Komoto of Park Ridge, NJ and TZHS sophomore Christopher Correa of Tappan, NY on their first 16 and under appearance. Both boys with impressive and highly competitive performaces finishing with a tournament record of 3 wins and 1 loss..

GIRLS SINGLES EXHIBITION

Kanishka Prasanna of Montvale NJ crowned Girls Exhibition Champion as she breezed past all 3 matches without losing a single game throughout the entire tournament.

A strong performance for Caitlyn Kim of Teaneck, NJ reaching the finals and earns the runner-up ttile.

A job well done for every young ladiy who participated in the tournament.

BOYS SINGLES 14 & UNDER

Good effort from all the boys that participated in the 14U division and a big congratulations to those taking their first steps into competition.

With a 16-draw. there were some very good matchups but in the end, Miles Haider of Piermont, NY stood victorious with 4-1 in the Boys 14U final match.

Jaden Zaide of Orangeburg, NY secures tournament runner-up with a solid tournament run.

Noteworthy mentions are:

3-4 Playoffs: Mathew Komoto of Park Ridge, NJ defeats Dylan Gutowski of Orangeburg, NY (5-3) 

Consolation Finals (West): Sam Pickering of Saddle RIver, NJ defeats Joel Shin of Nanuet, NY (4-0)

Consolation Finals (North): Colin Holmes of Blauvelt, NY defeats Dylan Chernick of Nanuet, NY (5-3)

Mathew, Sam and Colin finishes strong with 3 wins and 1 loss.
