Tennis Center Policies

Policies at the facility shall supersede any posted on this site.  

GENERAL RULES

1. No pets are allowed in the fenced court areas, under any circumstances.
2. Courts will be rented on a per-hour basis. We ask that you exit the courts in sufficient time to allow Tennis Center staff to groom the courts as necessary. Court Rental fees must be paid prior to court usage.
3. Court gates should be kept closed at all times for safety. Individuals using the courts should not open the courts for other individuals. All access to the courts shall be registered and tracked through the assigned court management software (ServeTennis).
4. The courts are for tennis only.  No bikes, skates, skateboards, scooters or other activities are permitted on the court at any time.
5. Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by an adult, at all times.
6. Courts will only be open for use from 9:00am until 9:00pm. These hours may be adjusted at any time.
7. Please be responsible and care for your courts at all times.
8. The City of Jeffersontown reserves the right to revoke access to the courts to anyone who fails to abide by these policies
9. Appropriate tennis attire and non-marking court shoes are required on all courts. Flip-flops, crocs or sandals are not allowed on the court. During the summer months, swim shorts are permissible, and girls should wear a skirt or shorts over a bathing suit. 
10. Players must exhibit proper sportsmanship while playing (no profanity, throwing of rackets, etc.). Profanity directed towards any member of the Plainview Tennis Center staff will not be tolerated, for any reason, and will result in the immediate expulsion of the offending party. Usage rights may be revoked permanently, at the discretion of the City of Jeffersontown. 
11. No one, other than players and officials, shall be allowed inside the fenced area. Those waiting to play, spectators, and children must stay outside the fenced area.
12. No food or food containers are allowed inside the fenced area. Beverages are permitted in non-breakable containers, only.
13. Sitting or leaning on the nets is prohibited.
14. No littering is allowed. Trash containers are provided for your use.
15. No smoking is allowed inside the fenced area.
16. As a courtesy to all players, walking behind a court while a point is in progress should be avoided.
17. It is understood that any individual causing property damage shall be held financially responsible.
18. The individual reserving the court shall also be responsible for any damage done by those who are using the courts under their reservation.

Plainview Tennis Center Weather Policy:
In the event of rain, usage of the courts will be suspended.
In the event of lighting, play will be suspended if the lighting is within 8 miles of the facility. All individuals shall promptly exit the courts and take shelter in a safe area. Suspension of play shall continue for a minimum of 30 minutes after the last lightning strike is detected within 8 miles. If play is suspended by a member of the Plainview Tennis Staff, the Plainview Tennis Staff are the ONLY individuals with the authority to reopen courts. Tennis Center staff will monitor weather and reopen the courts as soon as they deem it safe.

When play is stopped or suspended due to weather, if less than 50% of the one-hour reservation period (30 minutes) has been used, then the court rental fee may be applied to another reservation. This will be applied as a credit to the paying player's account. If more than 50% of the reservation period has been used, credits will be at the discretion on the Tennis Center Manager.
