Introduction

Hi Everyone,

I am Coach Gino! I have been playing Tennis for 19 years and have been coaching highly competitive Tennis Player’s for over 10 years. I grew up in the Valley and played USTA Competitive Tennis with a career high Top 20 of the USTA Southwest Section. From there, I went on to play at Paradise Valley Community College where the team finished top 20 in the nation in 2013. Once I finished my 2 years at Paradise Valley, I played my last two years at a Division I school, Southern Utah University (SUU). Since graduating with my Bachelor's in Exercise Science from SUU, I have been coaching full-time while still competing in money sanctioned tournaments. I have been ranked as high as No. 1 in the Southwest in the Men's Open Division since the conclusion of my collegiate career.

What sets me apart from other coaches is my strive to continually improve as both a player and a coach. I use my experiences gained through training and match play and relate it to my players. In addition, my degree in Exercise Science has helped me to have a complete understanding of biomechanics which gives me the ability to thoroughly simplify strokes, nutrition, and exercise to my players. My players have demonstrated success at both the sectional and national levels. A lot of people believe there is some "secret" to being able to play competitively at a high level. The "secret" is learning the fundamentals and then putting in the work.

If you put in the work, I'm sure you will find success at the Phoenix Tennis Academy. I use a variety of coaching styles that I have established through my own years of training, as well as learning the player’s coaching style and creating targeted drills and lesson plans to best develop the player’s skill. A combination of drills, live ball play, and match analysis is essential to create a well-rounded, and competitive player.
