Owen coaches at Friends Academy, where he has continued to build championship‑level teams. The girls’ team won the Long Island Championship in 2021 and finished as the NYS team runner‑up. The boys’ team went on to win three straight Long Island Championships from 2023 to 2025, culminating in a New York State Championship title in 2025.

Over the years, Owen has earned multiple Coach of the Year honors. In 2023, he was recognized by Long Island Tennis Magazine. In 2025, he received two major distinctions: the USTA named him the Nassau County High School Coach of the Year, and Newsday honored him as the Long Island High School Coach of the Year.
