About this league

USTA Eastern and MetroTennis CTA invite ALL public and private tennis facilities in New York City to field a team to play in a city-wide team competition in the fall, using a co-ed, round robin format.
Sign up your team for a one-time fee of $120 per TEAM (regardless of the number of players).

League rules

It’s easy to enter/play. Here’s how:

-Hold one or more local competitions at your facility during the summer to produce your team players.*
- Contact Mark McIntyre at Mark@JuniorTennisFoundation.org to enter and learn how to register your team
-Register your team for the Battle of the Boroughs: pay a one-time TEAM fee of $120
-Once your team is registered, you will receive an email link for your players to sign up on your team (at no further costs)
-Borough Playoffs take place within each of the 5 boroughs at the end of September
-The winners of each Borough then compete in the city-wide BoB on October 2-3

Battle of the Playoffs and Boroughs Format

Format for Borough Playoffs and Battle of Boroughs: Round Robin Team Competition:
Each Match consists of a set of Women’s Singles, Men’s Singles, Mixed Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Men’s Doubles

Minimum team size: two men + two women
Maximum team size: ten men + ten women
Recommended team size: five men + five women

*You do not need to hold local competitions specifically for the BoB. For instance, if your facility has already scheduled tournaments or ladders, you may use the winners, finalists, semi-finalists, etc. to populate your team. Or, you could simply organize a single completion -- or a series of competitions -- to determine your team. A mixed-doubles tournament – or a set of mixed doubles tournaments – would be a simple and ideal way to create a team.
