For the first time these courts will be available to the general public on weekends and school holidays, using this court reservation system.

THERE IS NO BATHROOM ACCESS OR WATER NEAR THE TENNIS COURTS.  PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

San Francisco residents under 18 and San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) employees may play for free after completing the membership forms and confirmation of eligibility by Friends Of Lowell Tennis (FOLT).   Please allow 7 business days for eligibility confirmation. 

All other tennis players must purchase a $10 membership and will be charged $5 per 30 minutes per court.  Memberships are valid for one year from the date of purchase.

All courts can be booked for the following increments: 1hr, 1hr 30min and 2hrs, a day for each member.  Courts open 7 days in advance for reservations starting at 7am.  Courts may be cancelled up to 24 hours before a reservation without penalty. Cancellations within 24 hours of a reservation will forfeit the reservation fee.  In the event of inclement weather, FOLT, at its sole discretion, will determine whether tennis could have been played at the time of a reservation.  In the event that FOLT determines that the courts were not playable, for paid reservations, a credit will be issued to the party that reserved the court.  This credit may be used for a reservation at a future time.  There are no cash refunds for unused court time or rainouts.  

In the event that it is determined that you have made a reservation three times and have not shown up to play during your allotted time, FOLT reserves the right to suspend your court reservation privileges indefinitely.

FOLT is a volunteer-run non-profit Community Tennis Association and all proceeds from membership and reservation fees are used to pay for insurance, tennis court maintenance and operations, and to support SFUSD tennis team expenses.  Any profits generated from reservation fees after those expenses are covered are donated to the San Francisco Unified School District.

At the completion of the reservation process you will be assigned a 4 digit PIN code that may be used to access the tennis courts through the dedicated entrance from the parking lot located on the Lake Merced side of the Lowell High School campus.  This code will work when entered into the keypad to open the gate 10 minutes prior to your reservation time through 10 minutes after the conclusion of your reservation slot, eg if you have a 12:00 PM-1:30 PM reservation your code will work from 11:50 AM to 1:40 PM.  Codes are not reusable outside of your reservation time.

In addition:

• No food or beverages (other than water and sports drinks in sports bottles), cigarettes, alcohol, intoxicants, or narcotics shall be allowed on the Tennis Courts 

• All members must wear appropriate non-marking footwear for tennis. No cleats, street shoes, or high heels are allowed

• No pickleball is allowed on these courts

• No stickers, glitter, confetti, helium tanks, or helium balloons are permitted

• Pets are not permitted

• Unsupervised children under 13 are not permitted

• Music may not be played on the Tennis Courts, including from cell phones or other electronic devices

• The following are prohibited in or near the Tennis Courts:  Smoking; possession or being under the influence of alcohol, intoxicants or narcotics; possession of a firearm or other weapon; possession of a dangerous substance including but not limited to flammable, explosive or otherwise hazardous materials; fighting, assault, or battery; gambling; or other conduct that poses a threat to the health or safety of self or others, or of property damage.
