John Williams was presented with the Ron Hren Memorial Award Plaque on May 14th, 2022.  Anthony Medina (treasurer) and Jenny Garcia (Board Member) of Flagstaff Tennis Association (FTA) awarded this honor to John.  John was here in Flagstaff a short time but he jumped in to work with the FTA as a board member, heading up scholarships and high school tennis activities. He helped with High School Girls Tennis and was involved in organizing, setting up and guiding new tennis players to the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday tennis drop-in group at Coconino Tennis Courts.

Last year’s recipient of this award was Gordon Medford.

About Ron Hren

Ron Hren provided the residents of Flagstaff a unique, social, and community-minded forum for community involvement through sport.  In collaboration with the Flagstaff Tennis Association (FTA), Ron created a very special portal to help many people in our community.  That Flagstaff as a city can offer this to its residents reflects great honor and commitment by Ron, FTA, and the city. Ron died in 2020.  FTA is working toward the renaming of the Coconino tennis courts to “The Ron Hren Memorial Tennis Courts”
