You have questions? We might have answers.
What tennis leagues do you support?
Currently we support Evanston teams that play in Chicago Parks District leagues and Shoreline leagues. ETLA can also help USTA and other league teams based in Evanston. Email us if we can help your league/team, too!
What kind of support do you provide?
ETLA can help teams reserve Evanston public courts for league matches and, in some cases, for team practice. More generally, ETLA advocates for the needs of tennis teams and leagues at the city level, with the City Council and the Parks and Rec board. Some of our goals are to help ensure that our public tennis courts well-maintained, and that groups of (4+) public courts continue to be available for league play.
Do I have to be a member of Evanston Tennis Leagues Association (ETLA) in order to play in a league?
No. ETLA is not a membership organization. We are supported by donations from tennis teams and individual players; players are not required to join.
Do I have to be a member of Evanston Community Tennis Association (ECTA) in order to play in a league?
No. Despite ECTA's messaging about league eligibility, players are free to join Evanston league teams (including CPDTA, Shoreline, and USTA) without ECTA membership.
Can I make a donation?
Yes. ETLA is a 501(c)3 organization, so donations are tax-deductible. For more information, email us at donate@EvanstonTLA.org.
