Croton Harmon Community Tennis Association - FAQs

FAQs

Website & Registrations

Why am I being routed through the USTA when I try to sign up for a membership or programming?

The USTA has created a web platform for community tennis associations to better serve our players. To access Croton Tennis registration and programming, you need to sign in through a USTA login. If you do not have an existing USTA account, follow prompts to “sign up with a new account,” and create a login. This is FREE, is NOT a USTA membership, and does not obligate you to any USTA info.

What if I already have a USTA membership—can I sign up through that?

Yes, you can sign up with an existing USTA membership, and from there access the Croton Tennis Association membership and programming.

Can I register another person, along with myself, for events?

Yes, as long as the additional person is on your same family membership.

Sometimes when I try logging on, the site is blocked—what do I do?

If you’re having trouble accessing the website, try getting there by googling Croton Tennis Association and clicking on our listing—rather than typing in the URL directly. We don’t know why that works, but it seems to.

Court Play

Do I have to reserve a court to play at PVC?

Reservations are strongly recommended. You can play without a reservation if a court is free, but if a reserved party arrives, they have priority. Click on Court Booking to make a reservation.

I’m trying to reserve a court and get an “access denied” message. What do I do?

Make sure you are logged into the site using your Croton Tennis Association info and your membership is active. If you are still having trouble, email crotontennis@gmail.com and we will try to help you.

Can I bring guests to the PVC courts?

Because our membership dues support the court fees the Association has to pay, all users of the courts should be members. If you have out-of-town guests, we ask that you contribute a $25 guest fee when booking a court.

Do I have to sweep the courts after I play?

PVC courts are maintained on a daily basis entirely by members, so please sweep and brush the lines after you play. We hire a professional tennis court company to come every two weeks to condition the courts, but the rest is up to us!

Membership & Community

Where do my membership dues go?

The Croton Tennis Association (not the schools, not the town) entirely funds the maintenance of the two red clay courts at PVC. Your annual membership dues enable us to sustain and use the PVC courts (which otherwise would become unusable and/or paved over for parking). Dues also help us keep our programming costs low (much lower than a private club).

How can I become involved in the CTA?

Please reach out to us at crotontennis@gmail.com. We can use your expertise and enthusiasm!
