With only eight public tennis courts in Clarksville (which is a disgrace), Clarksville Tennis Association has been able to negotiate with the administration of Austin Peay to allow us to use their courts when they are not being used by the university. Below is the policy which was recently published:
- Members of Clarksville Tennis Association and their guests will be able to use the four south tennis courts, next to Marion Street, for no charge during the hours of operation for the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center. The other four courts (next to the parking lot) will normally be locked, but CTA members may have access to them also if properly reserved in advance.
- To gain access, players must register at the reception desk inside the Foy Center. They must also complete a waiver of liability form (first visit only). If the courts are locked, Foy Center staff will unlock them.
- CTA members may also use the tennis courts when the Foy Center is closed by making advance reservations. This will again be no charge to CTA members and their guests. Check with the Foy Center for specific reservation procedures.
- The above policy applies only to the tennis courts, but if CTA members would like to use the other facilities at the Foy Center (including the pool), they may purchase a membership at a discounted rate.
We would like to thank David Davenport, the director of the Foy Center, and the APSU administration for their willingness to work with us on the use of their tennis courts. Please be respectful of their facilities when you use them; please do not leave any trash on the courts, do not damage any equipment, and report to the Foy Center staff any damage or abuse you see.
