Solar Eclipse - Tennis Style!

"Keep your eye on the ball" is a frequently called-out direction to athletes. This past Monday, shortly after most of Bucks County residents had kept their eyes on the solar eclipse, BCTA's participants at the Doylestown Borough site came to their tennis program seeing a "tennis eclipse" and dressed for the celebrated event by wearing black/white clothing to represent night and day.

Coach Craig made a special tennis-based replica of the solar eclipse that greeted players as they walked onto the court. Ever creative, Coach Craig also added three black tennis balls into the mix of equipment, and when a black ball came into play, all knew it was going to be a "moon ball," or high lob. Players received extra recognition if they were able to track down the moon ball!

Everyone enjoyed the eclipse theme, which helped to make the actual solar eclipse last a bit longer. Thanks, Coach Craig!
