Bismarck Mandan Tennis Association - Home

Updates from January 16, 2026

Bismarck-Mandan Tennis Association (BMTA) has several free community events coming up in the next month to grow the sport of tennis and allow your family/friends/acquaintances to try out and learn tennis.

We are excited to partner with Vinterfest! It's a month-long celebration of winter throughout central ND that promotes educational, recreational, and cultural heritage programming for the public's enjoyment.

Upcoming Community Events

Vinterfest Kickoff - Sunday (Jan 18) @ 2-4pm @ BSC Advanced Technology Center

- We'll be there hosting red ball tennis for all ages. There will also be a lot of other cool activities.

Adult & Teen Red Ball Rally - Thursday (Feb 12) @ 5:30pm @ Mandan Library

- We'll be leading red ball tennis for adults and teens.

PIzza & Play: Intro Tennis Lesson & Games - Tues (Feb 17) @ 6pm @ Capital Racquet

- This is our big community event. What can be better than tennis and pizza!? We'll be teaching beginner full-court tennis for adults and teens, along with teaching red ball tennis for ages 5+. Great opportunity to try out and experience the red ball tennis fun that is gaining popularity amongst adults around the nation. RSVP required.

Happy New Year

Bismarck-Mandan Tennis Association (BMTA) is super excited for 2026 with all of our upcoming events. This year features 11 new ones and a few more in the works, in addition to the traditional ones you've enjoyed yearly. We plan to go bigger in everything we do and can't wait to see you soon. We are always open to hearing your ideas on what you would like to see and what we can do better. Cheers to a 2026 filled with plenty of court time, powerful shots, and winners galore!

Stay Active Videos

Try this activity at home or on the court to work on hand-eye coordination and control. To make it more challenging, try spreading your arms out wider or letting the ball bounce higher. Try to see how many you can get in 30 seconds.

No court to play on at home? No problem! Make your own net at home using regular items from around the house. Get creative, but make sure to ask for permission from your parent or guardian before using!

Edgies works on your grips, specifically a continental grip. Using your racquet with a continental grip, try and see how many times you can hit the ball using the outer edge of your racquet. You got this!
