As owner of AMP TENNIS, Chad states that the visionary component of his business is critical to its daily success. 

This has been true of his road as a USPTA professional through the years.

Beginning his college career at University of North Carolina at Pembroke, formerly known as Pembroke State University, he transferred to UNC at Wilmington under a tennis scholarship for the next four years. 

While attending the university, he served as the Tennis Director for Porters Neck Plantation and Country Club during its infant stages of construction. 

He completed his years at the university as the #1 singles and #1 doubles player for the Seahawks.

Acquiring a USPTA professional status in '95 and graduating with a Bachleor Of  Science in Marketing degree in '96, Chad set off for Houston, Texas. 

There he worked to become the Head Staff Professional under the direction of Mike Doty at the prestigious Briar Club. 

During this time, he grew as an USPTA Professional and excellent player. 

Chad held positions with USTA Texas as a USTA TEAM TENNIS local coordinator and USTA Schools Clinician. 

As Junior Program Coordinator at the Briar Club, he set increasingly record numbers in participation year after year. 

Competing monthly in Pro-Amateur events, Chad acquired a name for himself in the local Houston area for being an outstanding attraction for area clubs.  Competing in area satellite tour events, he was able to keep his tennis skills sharp and competitive with top up and comers.

Acquiring the position as Tennis Director with Vicksburg Country Club in August of '99, he set his sites on bringing professional organization to a small town community. 

Professional achievements included setting record numbers with participation in USTA TEAM TENNIS during the Summer of 2000 at his club; creating junior memberships for club members; and bringing the first ever Tennis Pro-Am to Vicksburg, MS. 

Other accolades included career development studies with USTA achieving success in the USTA Sports Science Level I and Level II.

Upon arriving back in North Carolina in the fall of 2001, the vision Chad had for a community and its tennis enthusiasts began to take shape in Concord, NC. 

This vision is what has now led to the present business that is changing daily, while growing in leaps and bounds year after year ...

In 2004, Chad achieved USTA High Performance status.

He was selected in July 2004 to receive this honor and traveled to Carson, California to undergo further training. 

This was because of his commitment to excellence in junior tennis.

While at the USTA west coast national training center, he attended a week long training session with other selected coaches.

From this training, future opportunities for junior coaching have been made available from on a state and sectional level.

In the last several years Chad has achieved many accomplishments.

Since 2005, Chad has served year after year as a coach for the USTA Southern Association in different capacities.

One example is as a Zonals coach.

Zonals is a national team competition that puts USTA sections against one another with a team comprised of 6 girls and 6 boys.

Players are selected by their sections and it is a true honor in their junior career. 

Chad continued to serve as a USTA Zonals Coach when called up by state and sectional leaders.

Athletic Management Professionals, Inc. took a face lift change in the Spring of 2010.

It is now entitled AMPTENNIS.

In 2011,Chad Oxendine became the tournament director for 6 USTA tournaments.

These events host over hundreds of families each year and bring thousands of dollars into the Cabarrus County economy.

Serving as a tennis representative on the Cabarrus County Visitor's Bureau Sports Council, he is actively involved in the sports community of Concord and surrounding cities.

Over the last several years, Chad has served as the Concord Tennis Association President.

Presented & conducted hundreds of field days & tennis assemblies at area schools

In 2018, AMPTENNIS hosted 12 usta sanctioned events.

These events included North Carolina Level 3, 4, 5 & 6 events.
