The Alamogordo Tennis Association was founded in 1966 and plays on the public tennis courts located at 1700 Oregon Ave. in Alamogordo.  

The tennis courts are located in the beautiful Oregon greenbelt, between Oregon and Washington Boulevard. just south of 18th Street.

There are 8 lighted courts, available between the hours of 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.

ATA History:  

ATA has been the backbone of tennis in Alamogordo. Grady Nicholson founded ATA in 1966, 58 years ago!!!   

It is fair to say that our current complex would not exist without ATA. Between the years 2006 and 2010, ATA members worked with the city, legislators, and contractors and spearheaded the funding and rebuilding of the existing courts—one of the best tennis complexes in southern NM.

The court lighting was a thank you gift to ATA member John White for his work during court construction which saved the city thousands of dollars. Both sheds were funded and built by ATA, and the new structure by courts 7 and 8 was the result of a donation by ATA member Tom Springer in memory of his wife Barbara.   

ATA treasurer Greg Richardson, continuously donates countless hours over many years on court maintenance and communication with the city and law enforcement to keep these courts in good shape.
