About Us

Our Mission

To promote an active lifestyle through the introduction of wheelchair tennis and other adaptive sports for disabled children and adults, and their families.

Our Vision

To involve any individual with physical disabilities (and their families) in a sports activity that they may participate together. Through their participation in sports and recreation activities, all participants will increase their physical fitness, personal socialization, confidence, and independence.

Our Humble Beginnings

Founded in Southern California, the Adaptive Athletics Association formed as a collaboration of: a medical professional provider, a group of local women tennis enthusiasts from Mission Hills Country Club, a couple other local wheelchair tennis players from the Coachella Valley Area, and one current National Top 5 Singles / Number One Doubles champion in wheelchair tennis.

This group of individuals sparked what would be the humble beginnings of our foundation. They forged its existence from the combined belief that all wheelchair sports, and specifically wheelchair tennis could be organized under the supervision of this newly found organization. They all agreed that the events that they would organize in the realm of all adaptive sports would be run with the highest level of respect for those who compete in, provide for and want to take part in these sports.

Since then Adaptive Athletics Association has organized professional tennis events at Mission Hills Country Club, Yorba Linda Country Club, Palm Desert Marriott Resort and the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens.

Our organization is committed to pushing for the furtherment of all adaptive sports, and have reinvented ourselves to be a leader in the global online community of adaptive athletes all over the world.
