Board and Officers meeting minutes of August 24, 2021

Present were:  Karen F, Judy H, Edward K, Deb M, Gary O, Meg R, Melody W

  1. 12:00 noon Meeting called to order

  2. Standing Items:

    1. Review agenda & plan meeting

    2. Approved minutes from previous meeting

    3. Approved Treasurer's report and financial review <HL> Actuals through 2019 + budget

    4. PR officer report and reports from other officers​

      1. our social media includes "of interest to tennis enthusiasts" like high school tennis, pickleball, UTR, Brian Foster's Tyler Tennis postings,   ... 

    5. ALC report: all good so far. Fall league signups starting slow. Will work with Andrea for a 2022 schedule and 

      1. Check edit and add information like "etiquette" in resource pages (work with webmaster and PR to publish)

    6. ​Tyler Pro Tournament: Melody coordinating with team at TAS to involve NeTx as appropriate 

      1.  NeTx to sponsor this year at the Gold, $5,000 level (up from $2,500 last year)

      2. Working with resources in Metroplex to learn how they made up to $60,000 / year fundraising associated with their similar WTA Pro Tournament

  3. Old Business

    1. JTT update - plan to check with Ben

    2. Sectionals for 2022 applications were completed 

    3. we received our refund for defective ball machine

  4. New Business

    1. Grow The Game Grant applications due October 1st. 

    2. Hope Open sponsored at the $1,500 level. Edward submitted forms, logos... 

    3. East Texas Doubles Tournament, 2nd weekend in October contribution of at least $200

    4. Ball machine annual maintenance contract for $150 / year approved 

    5. Faulkner is recycling balls with <HL> RecycleBalls.org (powered by Wilson) 

    6. Edward to clarify with USTA-Texas our borders and update <HL> this page

    1. Next meeting is October 5 or 12 at Fresh at noon.
