Minutes of Officers Meeting January 7, 2020

  1. 5:30 pm Meeting called to order. Introductions and welcome to all especially new officers.

  2. 5:35 Approve minutes from previous meeting

  3. 5:39 Treasurer's report and financial review <HL> Actuals through 2019 + budget

  4. 5:42 PR officer report and reports from other officers

    1. Karen worked on the calendar. Tough getting Clubs and member CTAs to participate

  5. 5:47 League reviews: USTA adult  <HL> Adult Stats and JTT Stats

    1. Andrea presented how leagues are going, changes, and what's coming up this year. 

    2. Six Texas (Texas is it's own section) teams going to nationals, ratings of everyone in section impacted

    3. Discuss how we encourage League leadership: organizations, directors, captains:

      1. Perhaps focus on Directors of Tennis and incentivize them to promote leagues and recruit captains

    4. Changes in TennisLink allow the formation of  "open" teams.

    5. Refer-friend: anyone 18-39 that is new to leagues or hasn't played for three years, lapsed, can flag a friend as the referrer and the referring friend will get a $25 gift card. Referrers may get a card for every friend referred.

  6. JTT Review: Will is no longer at Willowbrook. Now coaching at H.S. he would still like to be JTT coordinator

  7. Hosting Sectionals plans: hosting 55&over Mixed Nov. 6-8. We did get this for 2020.

  8. 6:20 RBC Challenge review. Change in PR team for tournament noted. Will work with them more closely next year.
