ALTERNATES
If you are an alternate and you have entered in another tournament the weekend of August 27th you MUST notify the tournament director to remove your name from the alternate list. If you withdraw from another tournament (after entries have closed) to play in this one, you will receive 5 suspension points.
On-site Alternates
Boys & Girls 16's report to Lakewood Tennis Center 1/2 hour before play begins (9:30 am)
Boys & Girls 18's report to EL Dorado Park Tennis Center 1/2 hour before play begins (9:30 am)
You will be placed in order of NSL waterfall at selection. Top 2 in each age division will probably have a good chance of participating.
MATCH FORMAT
Each team match will consist of 6 Boys Singles matches, 6 Girls Singles matches, 6 Gender Doubles, and 6 Mixed Doubles matches for a total of 24 possible points. The team that wins the most matches will be declared the winning team. In the event of a 12-12 tie, one 10 point match tiebreak will be played. The tiebreak will be a coin flip and the winning team will choose the event (Boys Doubles, Girls Doubles, or Mixed Doubles). Players will decide amongst each other who will be the two players that will play the tiebreaker. The 10 point MTB to break ties will not be a recorded match thus not counting for ranking.
DOUBLES LINEUPS
For Gender Doubles, players 1&2, 3&4, 5&6 will play as teams.
For Mixed Doubles B1&G1, B2&G2, B3&G3, etc. will play as teams.
TIEBREAK PROCEDURES
The team that wins the most team matches will be declared the winning team. In the event there are two or more teams tied with the same win-loss record, the following procedure will be used to break the tie:
If there are two teams tied with the same win-loss record, the team that won the head-to-head match between those two teams will be declared the winner.
SCORING FORMAT
SINGLES: 2 short sets (4-4 plays a 7 point tie-break) with a 7 point tie-break in lieu of 3 set. no-ad scoring.
DOUBLES: 6 game set, with 7 poing tie break at 6 games all no-ad scoring
INTENDED MATCH SCHEDULE
DAY 1: Match #1 Gender Doubles, Singles & Mixed. Then Match #2 Gender Doubles & Boys Singles.
Day 2: finish Match #2 with Girls Singles & Mixed. Match #3 Doubles, Singles & Mixed.
NOTE: If a player pulls out during the event, we will add the next available alternate and that alternate will go in the proper waterfall place of the team that had the withdrawal.
NO TIME REQUESTS
Players are expected to be available all day on both Saturday and Sunday. If you have a time issue, please do not enter as it will not be accommodated.
BALL TYPE
The Pro Penn balll will be used for this tournament.

Team 1: Boys 1, 8, 9, 16, 17, 24 Girls 4, 5, 12, 13, 20, 21
Team 2: Boys 2, 7, 10, 15, 18, 23 Girls 3, 6, 11, 14, 19, 22
Team 3: Boys 3, 6, 11, 14, 19, 22 Girls 2, 7, 10, 15, 18, 23
Team 4: Boys 4, 5, 12, 13, 20, 21 Boys 1, 8, 9, 16, 17, 24
BRING LUNCH
In order to keep matches flowing, there will likely be no official lunch break so you will have to eat during your own match breaks. Please do not leave the facility to grab food.
DEFAULT NO-SHOW POLICY: Players are expected to play all matches including main draw and consolation. It is mandatory to notify the tournament director in written communication (via email) that a player needs to withdraw. Failure to notify the Tournament Director via email will receive a “Default No-Show” and 5 suspension points per the USTA Suspension Point System (USTA Regulations IV.F.)
USTA REFUND POLICY: No refund is required beginning six days before the start date of the tournament. The fee for electronic entries is not considered a part of the entry fee and is non-refundable.
STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
Players, persons who appear to be associated with a player (including, but not limited to, parents and coaches), officials, and organizers of any tournament are under a duty to encourage and maintain high standards of proper conduct, fair play, and good sportsmanship. They are under an obligation to avoid acts that may be considered detrimental to the game of tennis. Detrimental acts include, but are not limited to, the acts set forth in USTA Regulation IV.C (Standards of Conduct). Friend at Court

DRESS CODE POLICY
The USTA So Cal Staff and all officials of this event would like to inform the players of our expectations of proper attire while competing in this tournament:
ALL PLAYERS: No reference to drugs, violence, alcohol, or foul language may be depicted on player attire.
GIRLS: No sports bras or compression garments of any kind are to be worn alone; midriff must be covered when arms are at rest, and spandex shorts or capris must be covered by additional shorts or skirt.
BOYS: No cut off t-shirts, or cut off shorts. Sleeveless tennis shirts may be worn.
APPLY FOR ONE DIVISION ONLY!
Players are permitted to apply for only ONE age division.
**ENTERING IN A CONCURRENT TOURNAMENT**
Players are NOT permitted to play in the Jim Buck and another tournament that falls on either August 27-28. If you violate this rule, you will receive suspension points and lose ranking points from all concurrent events. IF YOU ARE AN ALTERNATE AND YOU ENTER ANOTHER TOURNAMENT, YOU MUST TAKE YOUR NAME OFF THE ALTERNATE LIST RIGHT AWAY. YOU MAY NOT PULL OUT OF ANOTHER TOURNAMENT TO PLAY IN THIS ONE!
The Junior Competition Committee has voted to have the USTA So Cal staff responsible for L3 closed, L4 open & closed, and L5 selection using National Standings List (NSL) and waterfall using a Computerized List Method (As of November 2021, the JCC will utilize UTR as its computerized list). USTA So Cal staff will select 22 top NSL and up to 2 Wild Cards. USTA So Cal staff and Tournament Director will determine the Wild Cards.
