For 2023, Watertown Tennis is launching this new website to improve registration, player communication, and visibility for our league.  We looked at several web “platforms” to host the site, and settled on the Serve Tennis platform created by the United States Tennis Association (USTA).  USTA not only provides the platform for free but it includes modules for scheduling leagues and tournaments which have always been done manually in the past.  Watertown Park & Rec collected our registrations for years but asked us to set up our own online payment method this year, so it was time to take the plunge and set up the site.  

The affiliation with USTA also connects players into the USTA system if they wish to play in area tournaments, and creates visibility for our tournaments to all area USTA players, too.  USTA has a ton of helpful links which we will build into the site over time as well.  These can include player conditioning, tennis etiquette, parent guides for younger players, and explanations of things like the new World Tennis Number player ranking system.

Local graphic designer Nicol Theron helped us obtain a domain name, design a logo, and build the actual website.  We are creating all the basic functions to start with, and have dreams of offering more local tennis news, online instruction for player development, and creating more social events for league players.
