What to expect from Round Robin
A Round Robin is a single event, non-elimination tournament draw format, that lasts for only up to one day. This event format is designed for adult recreational players who are looking for a tournament experience that allows them to compete as an individual or a doubles team. During a Round Robin, you are guaranteed matches with different opponents, thereby providing positive and inclusive play. Tournament Directors will do their best to place players in groups based on their rating and level of experience in order to ensure appropriate competitive play.
The Royal Kona Resort Tennis Club Round Robin, a "Play with Aloha" event, attracts our local club members and visitors. Many snowbirds who return every year consider it a highlight of their trip. They enjoy getting together with Royal Kona Resort Tennis Club members, a melting pot of diehard tennis fans who love the game and love to play! Be sure to come early to grab your spot in this social event and ask for Minoru. He's been the volunteer round-robin coordinator for over 30 years! The event format pairs you with a doubles partner; then you play four games. With each subsequent round, you get paired with a different partner and different opponents. The skill level ranges from 3.0-4.0, and everyone in attendance is there to have fun! It's a great way to meet new players and find potential playing partners.
