Meet Coach Taylor
My first time picking up a racquet was at RHTC in 2014 during a First Volley Clinic held by OPAF (orthotics, prosthetics, activities foundation).
The clinic was led by a Wheelchair Tennis Paralympian, Karen Korb. I hit my first good forehand, and something inside me sparked! I was invited to the clinic and was hooked. Before I knew it, I was traveling all around the country, playing in tournaments!
At the end of 2016, I traveled to the Cayce Tennis Center outside of Columbia, SC, to get my PTR Adult Development coaching certification. In 2019 I traveled to Dallas, Texas, and received my USPTA coaching certification in wheelchair tennis.
I never saw the love and passion for coaching coming, but it was definitely a calling for me, and I have been so blessed to teach so many amazing athletes tennis that will be able to play for as long as they want!
In 2020, I received the PTR professional of the year award!
I teach weekly wheelchair tennis clinics at the Rock Hill Tennis Center and coach for Adaptive Sports Adventures Program (ASAP), a short program through Carolinas Rehabilitation Atrium in Charlotte, NC.
I’m a national Net Generation regional provider coach for USTA, on the USTA SC and USTA SOUTHERN wheelchair tennis committees. In addition, I’m an assistant pro at the RHTC, helping Coach Tedi with the junior's red, orange, and green ball clinics!
Hope to see you around and on the tennis courts soon!
