Welcome to the USTA Delaware District Learn to Play Program. These classes are designed to teach new tennis players the basics of tennis - using red and orange balls. Red tennis balls are oversized balls with 25 per cent compression. These are the lowest bouncing balls and travel through the air slower. Orange balls are normal sized tennis balls, having 50 per cent compression. Using slower moving and lower bouncing balls accelerates the learning process. We work a lot on the fundamentals of the tennis stroke through drills and point based games. Classes are held on outdoor courts. If playing conditions are determined to be unsafe causing class to be canceled, notifications will be sent via the email that you registered under. Please always check for such communications before class. You will be given credit for any canceled class. Alex Fizz is the scheduled coach for this class.
