Raise Your Racquet for Rae Jean, did it again!!!

Thanks to many of you, this tennis tournament and fundraiser has donated over $15,000 to local charities! Whether you have played in the tournaments, participated in our auctions, or have simply made a donation, you have been responsible for making this important fundraiser a success!

Last year alone, we raised $4,200. The event proceeds went directly to a nursing student to help pay her tuition. We are all aware of the stress that has been placed on the Healthcare Industry in the last couple of years, so selecting a recipient in that industry seemed like a timely and worthy cause.  On September 6th, MATA board members awarded the $4,200 check to Ms. Kayla Williams. Kayla is working on her nursing career at Texas Tech School of Nursing on the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center campus, and she plans on completing her degree by May of 2023. Her focus is on neonatal and labor and delivery. Originally from Abilene, TX, Kayla lives in Ft. Worth with her mom and grandfather. She likes farm animals and volunteering with kids’ programs. We are hoping she finds some time in her busy schedule to volunteer with us on the tennis courts when MATA is teaching tennis to the kids in our community.

The 6th Annual “Raise Your Racquet for Rae Jean” Tennis/Pickleball Tournament and Fundraiser will be held, Saturday, November 12th, 2022 at Walnut Creek Country Club. We will have the online silent auction with loads of great prizes ready to go from October 31st until 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 13th. Go to this link for more information: https://linktr.ee/Mansfieldareatennisassociation.  This year, all the proceeds will be donated to Alliance for Children, an Arlington non-profit organization that helps kids and families with abuse.

We couldn’t have this event without all of you, players, sponsors, and donors. Thank you for being a leading light in helping us change the story for many in the Mansfield community.
